Simple technology allows the purification of lipoproteins in 3 hours, rather than the 3 days required by routine sequential flotation; most add-on techniques can be performed without the need for dialysis. The high water activity of OptiPrep™ gradients is ideal for analysis of protein complexes that are unstable in other gradient media such as glycerol.
Some applications employ the unique advantage of the ability of OptiPrep™ to form self-generated gradients; these reduce preparation time and improve reproducibility and resolution.
